Encounters, exhibitions, concerts, street arts, historical reconstructions, films, painting, pageants, firework displays … the Venetian Carnival in Longwy, which has acquired the status of genuine festival in the five times it has been held, is a blend of the town’s culture, history, lively atmosphere and attractiveness, offering the splendour and setting of its heritage to those in costume and photographers, to the delight of a general public already won over.
Come face to face with Louis XIV and his court, immerse yourself in the Longwy of the 17th century, relive the emotion of a firework display inspired by the techniques of the Ruggieri Brothers, discover Venetian delights and the culture of Italy in the Pays-Haut, as you enjoy a longvenetian weekend in Longwy!
A true coming together of locals, general public and artists, this event is an invitation to set out on a cultural journey whilst enjoying a picnic on the grass in the remarkable setting of Vauban’s fortifications. This is the fifth time the event has been held and it will hinge on a programme of street arts with three original, madcap troupes. With its bookstalls, its local produce market and its lively atmosphere, the Cultural Picnic falls fairly and squarely under the idea of Cool.
