The 16th edition of the Most Beautiful Villages of France ® Wine Market will take place on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April 2013 at the Rodemack Citadel in the big 16th century vaulted cellar. Organized by the Community of Cattenom Towns and Vicinities, in partnership with “The Most Beautiful Villages of France” Association and the Municipality of Rodemack, this gastronomic event allows you to travel through twenty villages classified as the «Most Beautiful villages of France », discovering their best wines. Just like every year, more than 100 vintages will be available for tasting and sale: Côtes du Rhône, pinots, bourgognes, cabernets, crémants, etc.
Moselle wines, which were granted “controlled designation of origin” certification (AOC in French) in 2011, will also be honoured with the participation of a certified grower (Domaine du Stromberg – Petite-Hettange).
Last but not least, there will be a market selling a variety of local artisan products such as cheeses, organic vegetables, breads, honey, beer, eau de vie de mirabelle (yellow plum fruit brandy), etc.
The 34th « Rodemack Medieval City Festival» will take place on 29 and 30 June 2013. This year, the fortified town and the citadel will be the scene of some exceptional festivities.
Staring at 4pm on Saturday, visitors will be treated to quality entertainment, mingling with acrobats, jesters, jugglers, fire jugglers, minstrels and other troubadours in the heart of this huge medieval market. Those wandering through the military camps within the Citadel park will be transported right back to the Middle Ages.
Saturday night will be punctuated by fire displays and the famous medieval ball while a traditional parade will bring the event to a close on Sunday at 6pm.
Not to be missed, the Rodemack Medieval City Festival has become one of the main costume festivals of the Grand Est region.
